Ad Types
These are the standard ad formats that publishers can integrate into their websites:
-
Interstitial: These are full-screen ads that cover the interface of their host application. They are typically displayed at natural transition points in the flow of an app, such as between activities or during the pause between levels in a game.
- Aggressive Interstitial: A more intrusive version of the interstitial ad that may appear more frequently or be more difficult to close.
- Google Interstitial: A standard interstitial ad served through Google's ad network.
- Branded Interstitial: An interstitial ad that is specifically designed to feature a particular brand's messaging and visuals.
- Sticky: Also known as an "adhesion ad" or "anchor ad," this ad format "sticks" to the bottom or top of the screen and remains visible as the user scrolls through the page content.
- In-Read: These ads appear within the body of an article or text content. As the user scrolls through the text, the ad unit comes into view. They are designed to be less intrusive than other ad formats by fitting naturally into the reading experience.
- Reward Ad: Often used in mobile gaming, these ads offer users a reward, such as in-game currency or extra lives, in exchange for watching a video ad.
- Inter-scroller: This is an ad format that reveals an ad as the user scrolls down the page. The ad appears to scroll at a different speed than the surrounding content, creating a parallax effect that can be very engaging.
Creative Ad Previews
Rich Media: A broad category of ads that include advanced features like video, audio, or other elements that encourage viewers to interact and engage with the content.
These are more interactive and visually engaging ad formats designed to capture user attention:
- Cross Slider Video: An ad format that likely combines a video with a slider element, allowing for interactive video experiences.
- 3D Cube with Parallax Effect: A visually rich ad that presents content in a 3D cube that rotates or moves with a parallax effect as the user scrolls.
- Gamified Interactive Banner: A banner ad that includes a mini-game to engage the user.
- Click to Flip: An interactive ad where clicking on it flips it over to reveal more content or a different ad.
- Interactive Flip Card: Similar to "Click to Flip," this format uses a card-flipping animation to reveal content.
- Double Carousel: An ad unit that features two carousels, allowing users to scroll through multiple images or products in two different sections.
- Half Cube Interactive: A variation of the 3D cube, likely presenting a half-cube visual for interaction.
- Page Flip: An ad that mimics the turning of a page in a book or magazine to reveal different ad creatives.
- Puzzle Game: An ad that includes a simple puzzle for the user to solve.
- Accordion: A collapsible ad format where different sections can be expanded or collapsed by the user to reveal more information.
- Full Page Takeover: A highly intrusive ad format that takes over the entire screen, similar to an interstitial but often with more interactive and rich media elements.
